This painting is titled Deer Lake River 16x12 oil on canvas. This is an area in Forest Park, Saint Louis that is a natural area with wonderful streams running through boulders. Its very peaceful and on a warm day you can sit for hours and paint or just contemplate nature.

Plein Air painting

Here is a painting from day two of the workshop I took with Billyo. We painted all day at Blanchette Landing along the Missouri river. This is from the morning session. It was windy and cold that morning. We all found places to stand out of the wind.

I attended a three day workshop for plein air painters in late October. It was chilly! We all earned our plein air stripes! Billyo  was a wonderful teacher. I heartily recommend his workshops if you have the chance to join up. Here is Billyo starting a demonstration for the class along the Katy Trail in Saint Charles, MO.
