October is National Arts & Humanities month in the U.S.

Every day we celebrate the arts, but October is the month to commemorate the arts in a big way. It is National Arts and Humanities Month—the largest annual celebration for the arts and humanities in the nation!

National Arts and Humanities Month (NAHM) is a coast-to-coast collective recognition of the importance of culture in America. It is designed to encourage all Americans to explore new facets of the arts and humanities in their lives, and to begin a lifelong habit of active participation in the arts and humanities.

From hosting a Creative Conversation or arts center open house to securing a mayoral proclamation or better newspaper coverage of the arts, people in every community across the United States can celebrate NAHM by helping recognize the contributions of cultural organizations in their region.

Creative Art Gallery Show

Join me at the Gateway Pastel Artist Show opening reception this Friday night, October 7 from 6-8pm. Creative Art Gallery is at 3232 Ivanhoe Avenue in St. Louis.

Save the date for Open Studios at the Foundry Art Centre, St. Charles, MO

The resident artists at the Foundry Art Centre are holding an Open Studios event to celebrate the opening of the Quilt National on October 2nd from 6-8 pm.
There are sixteen working artists upstairs working in a wide variety of mediums and styles. Come upstairs for a moment then visit the Quilt Show downstairs in the main gallery.

Open Studios is free for all.

Looking at Landscapes: art fair weekend at the Gateway Gallery

The art fair weekend at the Gateway was a great success. Lots of folks came in over the three day event to browse the art in our gallery. It was a busy and exhausting three days! This photo is of folks looking at my wall at the Gateway. The horse "looking" on is a ceramic sculpture by Karen Antrim. Thanks to everyone who came by to say hi.
