Plein Air Landscape

Green Reflections, oil on canvas panel, 11x14, (c) Janet Fons 2012
I painted this piece during the Augusta Plein Air Event. Augusta Shores is a community built around a lake and the scenery is gorgeous. I spent the day painting at the edge of the lake in a small grove of trees.

Plein Air painting from Augusta Event

Lake Reflections, oil on canvas panel, 12x16 (c) Janet Fons 2012
I painted this during the Augusta Plein Air Event. The weather was  warm and sunny and the lake at Klondike Park was a beautiful sight.

Plein Air Painting in Augusta, MO

Spring Vines, oil on canvas panel, 11x14 inches
This week is the 10th Annual Plein Air event in Augusta, MO. The spring was warm enough so that the grape vines are leafed out much more than they normally are. What a treat! Usually they are only sticks at this point. I painted these sweet little vines in Defiance.

New painting from Florida trip

Sugar Sand Beach oil on gallery wrap canvas, 30x40 inches
This scene is from Siesta Key on the Gulf side of Florida. The sand is super fine and very white. Its a beautiful beach.

What an audience!

This big guy was nearby during a round of golf in south Florida in February. The wildlife around the course was amazing. I am currently working on some Florida inspired paintings. Stay 'tooned.

Looking Over Echo Lake

Looking Over Echo Lake oil on panel, 14x11 inches
Same trip as the last post, although in this part of the mountains it looks like winter isn't yielding to spring yet. We are on the road to Mount Evans but the road is closed at Echo Lake Lodge. The snow is too deep to keep the road open in the winter.

March Thaw

March Thaw, 16 x 20" SOLD
March Thaw, oil on canvas, 16x20.
The snow is melting in the high country in this painting from over Squaw Pass in Colorado. My last visit to the mountains outside Denver with my favorite brother-in-law.

"Forest Park Afternoon:" new landscape

Forest Park Afternoon, oil on panel, 16x12 inches
This wonderful old city park has a bounty of areas to paint. Did you know Forest Park is larger than Central Park in NYC?

Happy New Year!

This painting is titled Deer Lake River 16x12 oil on canvas. This is an area in Forest Park, Saint Louis that is a natural area with wonderful streams running through boulders. Its very peaceful and on a warm day you can sit for hours and paint or just contemplate nature.
